Galaxy Collider App Reviews

Video Output?

Superb execution. I concur with others; a moving time counter would be helpful. In addition, it would be useful if users could output video to a file for future use. Four stars only leaves room for improvement! Well done.

... but hangs in iOS4

This app makes gravity visible! You can see the deformation as the galaxies approach each other from every angle imaginable. Double the mass of one and watch it tear spirals of stars away from another. Wanna go mental? Try watching 3 galxies slam into each other - the possibilities really are endless! Any chance of adding a time scale (eg millions of years or multiples of speed of light) to the collisions? Maybe start with some assumption about the size of 1 interstellar unit? These are not complaints, merely suggestions. I love this app!

Pretty Fantastic

I love this app! Being an amateur astronomer and space enthusiast, I can spend lots of time fiddling with and observing the interesting phenomena this app explores. Even if I knew nothing about interacting galaxies, gravity still seems to create a beautiful display of art for anyone who wanted a solid art app. Everything is superb, though Id absolutely love to see some of my personal suggestions... I see MASSIVE potential for this app! - - *Introduce more astrophysics!* Implement some stellar physics or something! This would surely include a "Realistic Color" setting, which would give galaxies realistic colors according to the age/type of their stars, (gas/dust?) amount of star formation (starbursts and whatnot), ect.! ..Just general astrophysics. -More refined and accurate camera control, and a zoom to function, maybe. AND, I frequently accidentally reset the simulation when moving the camera directly after zooming. Can the reset simulation function be something more complicated than a double tap? -More individual/specialized settings for each galaxy? At the bare minimum for example, the ability to set a custom radius for each galaxy in the simulation. -Custom environments? (ability to use pictures on device for backgrounds) -And I like the speed function. *Just elaborate on this app and it will grow even more spectacular!

Pretty decent first try

This is a pretty cool conceptual app. It shows random galaxies colliding with each other. The graphics are decent and its just fun. I have two quams about it though. The first is that most of the time the animation ends before you can see a whole new steady galaxy form and the other is that it annoyingly rotates with the movement of the iPhone. I would suggest that the author allow this app to be seen in full screen which would make the experience a bit more realistic. But hey, its $0.99 so its well worth a download. My advice is to give it a try...I think youll like it.

Great App

Im looking forward to some great updates to this already great app!

awesome

Its great I have one suggestion. When 2 or more galaxies collide they fly off... When that happens could you maybe make it possible us to follow it. Maybe by putting 4 fingers on the screen.

Big Ol Neato factor

Its great to run across a trully fascinating application, and a bonus when its done so well. I love this app for just watching when needing something to think about or to apply my curiosity. I wish it would have a high-accuracy setting, allowing each star to calculate tragectory from at least the nearest stars, and not just the galaxy centers. I know it chews up processing power and run slow. So what.

Beautiful!

Great App! Its almost deserving of five stars... Just need a full screen option and the ability to keep your settings between uses. Then Id give it a well deserved five stars!!! This one is worth buying!

Ideas and more

1 fix: Average initial galaxy- something, is set to start off at "2" but when moved, its actually in the spot where "1" should be on the slider 4 suggestions: A "reset to default" button, so I dont have to exit the app to put it all back to normal when I mess around with the settings A specific area to allow different sets ofsettings to be saved, so if you have a class and want to show a demonstration, all of your presets can be chosen, with ability to name your presets Ability to turn off the tutorial splash menu on app startup Ability to make it full screen, and to bring up the bottom bar again, you should have to tap a corner, maybe the bottom right corner to make it pop up again. 1 review: I definitely recommend this app, its got amazing graphics for the iPhone, it has an option for 3D, and it has tons of settings that you can play with, to create different catastrophical disasters (Thats what this app makes me think :D)

Great app

It would be cool if you could but black holes in and make it kind of like a gravity simulator

Great

Theres realy only two things this app needs to get six stars. 1. Be able to choose stars per galaxy but for each individual galaxy 2. A first person shooter style camera controls instead of the weird wiggle control that I asume is centered in the middle of the grid 1 more 3. The ability to touch and play with the stars. Maybe the tip of ur finger is a black hole. Or the option to put black holes in. Maybe manual placement of the galaxies First two more then any. I play with this app all the time and just watch the sim physics at work. Its like watching clouds form. Very time consuming. Almost cant stop sometimes. Update this app and Ill send u more money. How about a dollar. For each new awsome feature Great app

Black holes, please.

Great app, fun to destroy galaxies, but needs black holes, or some kind of black hole mode.

Neat, but too fast!

Very interesting app, but needs a slider to control the speed of time. Id like to watch the physics in slow motion.. Apologies if its already there, but I couldnt find it in the settings.

Eh

Its quite entertaining, but the 5 galaxies crash should be fixed.

Should be fixed

It keeps crashing when I put 5 galaxies I should have never bought this game everybody just vote for 1 star they still havent given the update

Needs Work

For each galaxy size, there should be limits set so that crashes do not occur (at 2 galaxies, the max number of stars crashes, this should be fixed, etc). It would be even better if the crashes could be avoided altogether by an increase in efficiency. Thanks for making this app, its got the potential, you just need to keep working with it.

Not great, by a long shot

It seems cool, but I cant even put three galaxies on without the game freezing. It really needs work, but eventually it could be worthwhile.

Horrible

Does not simulate anything more than a ragged, rapidly deteriorating cluster of dots and crashes randomly. Complete waste of time and money.

Needs to keep settings

Besides the random crashing mentioned by others I wish the app would hold all my configuration settings when I quit (or it quits itself). Very nice when it works though. Thanks, Chris

It isnt a game its a simulation

Its recommended that you get this app if you have a 4s or an ipad 3
