Galaxy Collider app good for
Superb execution. I concur with others; a moving time counter would be helpful. In addition, it would be useful if users could output video to a file for future use. Four stars only leaves room for improvement! Well done.
I love this app! Being an amateur astronomer and space enthusiast, I can spend lots of time fiddling with and observing the interesting phenomena this app explores. Even if I knew nothing about interacting galaxies, gravity still seems to create a beautiful display of art for anyone who wanted a solid art app. Everything is superb, though Id absolutely love to see some of my personal suggestions... I see MASSIVE potential for this app! -
- *Introduce more astrophysics!* Implement some stellar physics or something! This would surely include a "Realistic Color" setting, which would give galaxies realistic colors according to the age/type of their stars, (gas/dust?) amount of star formation (starbursts and whatnot), ect.! ..Just general astrophysics.
-More refined and accurate camera control, and a zoom to function, maybe. AND, I frequently accidentally reset the simulation when moving the camera directly after zooming. Can the reset simulation function be something more complicated than a double tap?
-More individual/specialized settings for each galaxy? At the bare minimum for example, the ability to set a custom radius for each galaxy in the simulation.
-Custom environments? (ability to use pictures on device for backgrounds)
-And I like the speed function.
*Just elaborate on this app and it will grow even more spectacular!
This is a pretty cool conceptual app. It shows random galaxies colliding with each other. The graphics are decent and its just fun. I have two quams about it though. The first is that most of the time the animation ends before you can see a whole new steady galaxy form and the other is that it annoyingly rotates with the movement of the iPhone. I would suggest that the author allow this app to be seen in full screen which would make the experience a bit more realistic. But hey, its $0.99 so its well worth a download. My advice is to give it a try...I think youll like it.
Im looking forward to some great updates to this already great app!
Its great
I have one suggestion.
When 2 or more galaxies collide they fly off... When that happens could you maybe make it possible us to follow it.
Maybe by putting 4 fingers on the screen.
Its great to run across a trully fascinating application, and a bonus when its done so well. I love this app for just watching when needing something to think about or to apply my curiosity. I wish it would have a high-accuracy setting, allowing each star to calculate tragectory from at least the nearest stars, and not just the galaxy centers. I know it chews up processing power and run slow. So what.
Some bad moments
It keeps crashing when I put 5 galaxies I should have never bought this game everybody just vote for 1 star they still havent given the update
It seems cool, but I cant even put three galaxies on without the game freezing. It really needs work, but eventually it could be worthwhile.
Does not simulate anything more than a ragged, rapidly deteriorating cluster of dots and crashes randomly. Complete waste of time and money.
Worked for 1 day now it shows a black screen n it wont do anything
The galaxies that i set were the largest possible, i tried two at first then progressively got to 5 at a time. It was pretty neat watching them collide with each other. One of the problems i think it has is that after a certain period of time elapsed the galaxies would reset whether or not they had collided yet or not. Also after they collide completely the entirety of each galaxy disappears. Not trying to bash this app, it is interesting and fun to play around with but it needs some fine tuning and additional settings to make me feel like i didnt just buy an app that i will uninstall and never use again. If anything get the lite version and play around on it for free.
I simply tried to slow the simulation down and there was no way to do it. It says in the help that you can tap on the upper left part of the screen to bring up the settings and that there is a slow motion slider somewhere. I tapped 1000 ways to Tuesday and no settings came up.I could not find The slow-motion slider anywhere and is not in the settings anywhere.
So unless you just want to watch galaxies collide at top speed leaving you little or no Ability to see watch whats going on dont bother downloading this app!
